BHS Head Coach Mark Gardner
will begin his 18th
year with the Purple Raiders. In his 17 years, Bloomington has
continued to dominate the Big 12 and has excelled in the Central Illinois
area. Coach Gardner has coached 57 state qualifiers, eleven All-Staters, five State Finalists and in 2000, Seth Livingston , the 275lb. State
Champion. As a member of the Team Illinois Greco Staff, Coach
Gardner has had the pleasure of seeing six of his own wrestlers earn
All-American status including Rob Chicoine, the 1994 215lb. Greco-Roman
National Champion , Brett Robbins, the 2004 & 2005 135 & 140lb.
back-to-back Greco-Roman National Champion who went on to win the
2006 US Jr. World Team Trials, and last year, Jake Bellis who won the 98
lb. Greco title. Coach Gardner lives in town with his wife Stacie,
son Ryan (7) and daughters Paige (6), and Leah (2). |
