                September                    Darrilyn Ellis                    

Darrilyn is a senior at Bloomington  High School and a second year student at the BACC but a first year student in the BACC Digital Media program.  He plans on attending Heartland Community College next year to start his education in becoming a college Math teacher.   

Darrilyn received the Purple Raider award for his kindness and helpful personality.  He was also nominated for the Technical Honor Society by his instructor as well as receiving the Most Valuable Dancer from the BHS Pom Squad.

Darrilyn has volunteered at the Mission Mart in his spare time as well as volunteering with the pom squad during different events.

October Lauren Berry

Lauren is a senior at Normal Community West High School and a second year student  in the BACC Automotive program.  She plans on going to a four-year college and major in science (Aerospace Engineering). 

Lauren has received the Sportsmanship Award, Volleyball honorable mention, and has been nominated for Student of the Quarter multiple times as well as the Technical Honor Society.  She was also chosen for the Master of Ceremony for the BACC Evening of Recognition.

Lauren has volunteered in canned food drives, tutoring, and the Millennium Girls.

November Mary Judith Irwin

Mary Judith is a senior at Bloomington High School and a second year student in the BACC Health Occupations program.  She plans on attending a private Christian college to earn a Bachelor's degree in nursing as well as planning on pursuing a Master's degree to become a nurse practitioner.   

Mary Judith has received the Purple Raider Award twice in her high school career.  She has also received the Ray A. Croc Youth Achievement Award as well as the Student of the Month at the Normal Rotary Club.

Mary volunteers for Fiber of Love and serves meals at Safe Harbor.  She has also participated in the Back to School Backpack Drive and Reach Workcamps with Calvary United Methodist Church's youth group.

January    Taylor Wilkey

Taylor Wilkey is a senior at El Paso-Gridley High School and a second year student in the BACC Cosmetology program.  Taylor plans of finishing at Hairmasters to receive her Cosmetology license as well as attend a junior college and then transfer to a 4 year college.   

Taylor is a member of the National Honor Society as well as receiving Program Student of the Quarter.  She has also received Best Serving and the Best Blocking award for Volleyball.

Taylor has done volunteer work in Missouri, Tennessee, and Wisconsin through her youth group.  She also volunteers at the Children's Christmas Bizarre at the Discovery Museum as well teaches Bible school.

February    Alyssa Mandula

Alyssa Mandula is a senior at University High School and a second year student in the BACC Culinary Arts program.  Alyssa plans to attend a four-year college and pursue a career in LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender) activism.  

Alyssa was voted "Most Likely to Change the World" by co-workers at Planned Parenthood.  She is a member of the Technical Honor Society and has received Program Student of the Quarter.  Alyssa has also exceeded Reading standards on the Prairie State Achievement exam.

Alyssa is a Peer Educator at Planned Parenthood as well as a "Big" volunteer at Big Brothers Big Sisters.  She has also participated in the Costa Rican Exchange Program.

March  Trevor Curry

Trevor Curry is a senior at Bloomington High School and a second year student in the BACC Civil Engineering/Computerized Architectural Design program.  Trevor plans on attending Central College of Iowa to pursue a career in Physical Therapy and Youth Ministries.  He would eventually like to open his own physical therapy facility or sports enhancement clinic and to mentor teens or young adults.  

Trevor was awarded Scholar Athlete.  He has also been nominated for Program Student of the Quarter as well as receiving the Perfect Attendance Award.

Trevor volunteers for Safe Harbor serving meals for the homeless as well as for Midwest Food Distribution Center packaging food.  He has also participated in 6 mission trips to Arkansas, Kentucky, South Carolina, Wyoming, Montana, and Costa Rica.

April  Tycie Justice
Tycie Justice is a senior at Bloomington High School and a second year student in the BACC Health Occupations program.  Tycie plans on attending Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego, CA to pursue a career in Nursing.    

Tycie has been awarded the Purple Pride Award (Leadership & Academics) as well as the Illinois State Scholar Award.  She has been an IHSA Scholar Athlete as well as nominated for the BACC Student of the Quarter. 

Tycie volunteers at the Humane Society of Central Illinois, as well as volunteers at many school activites and concessions.  She has also volunteered at H1N1 Vaccination Clinics.
