All CISCO students received their
letters of completion for both semesters.

For the 6th consecutive
year, 100% of the Health Occupations students passed the Certified
Nursing Assistants (CNA) exam on their first try.

Morgan
Schaub from Calvary Christian Academy took 1st place in Nursing at
the Skills USA State Competition and qualified to go to Nationals in
June.
|

Ø
Civil Engineering/Architecture students developed four LEED
(Leadership in Energy and
Environmental Design) certified building concepts in Uptown Normal.
Local
engineers and architects assisted the students with these design
concepts.

Ø
Fifty-four students from
BACC competed at the 46th Annual Illinois SkillsUSA State Leadership
and SkillsConference in Springfield, IL.
Two BACC
students qualified for the SkillsUSA National Competition in Kansas
City,MO.

Ø
Twenty one
students from the Health Occupations program will be continuing
their education in a health career field at various colleges in the
area.
|
|
Ø
Twelve students from the Criminal Justice class are furthering their
education in Criminal Justice at various area colleges.
The CSI
team from Criminal Justice placed 5th in this years Skills USA State
Competition.

Ø
Ten Early Childhood Care Education students received their Level 1
ECE credentials.
|

Ø
The
Building Trades class completed a house in cooperation with Habitat
for Humanity on East Washington Street in Bloomington.
The
students completed all of the carpentry work, including floors,
walls, and roof framing.
The
students installed the windows, exterior doors, siding and roof
covering.
The
interior doors and trim as well as kitchen cabinets were also
installed by the students.
The home also boasts a 5-star energy rating with additional
insulation, high efficiency furnace and water heaters.

Over 2,000
8th
graders attended the 3rd Career and Technical Education Festival,
and over 400 community members attended the evening Community Open
House, held at the Interstate Center.
Students
were exposed to career opportunities and business professionals in
all programs
through job shadowing experiences, guest speakers, and field trips.

Forty-five students were inducted
into the BACC Technical Honor Society.
|

Ø
In May, ninety four students were
recognized for various accomplishments at the BACC Evening
of Recognition ceremony. Amanda Wilhelm, from BHS received a
scholarship to continue her education at Heartland Community
College.

Ø
The National
Rotary selected eight students to recognize for citizenship,
leadership
and
scholarship.
|
|
Ø
Students in the BACC Computerized Architectural Design and Civil
Engineering classes once again entered into a Downtown Project
competition. Students
came up with designs for three floors of the Uptown Normal Phase One
development. Local
building professionals from State Farm and 1-Main coached the
students and became the evaluators at the time of the presentations.
Copies
of the students work will be shared with potential customers.

Fourteen students had perfect attendance at BACC for the 2009-10
school year.

Ø
Ten graduating seniors from Culinary Arts will be
attending either a technical school or community college and
majoring in culinary arts or hospitality.
Three
students were offered jobs as a result of
their participation in job shadowing this year.
Eighteen
students earned college credit for two courses offered as dual
credit through culinary arts at BACC and one students received 1st
place at the SkillsUSA State Competition and qualified to compete at
the National SkillsUSA competition in June.

Ten graduating seniors from the CAD/Civil Class are continuing their
education in either architecture or engineering.
