  • Serve as consultant regarding the upkeep of outside grounds
  • Serve as the BHS representative to the IHSA and Big 12 Conference
  • Interpret and enforce all rules and regulations concerned with athletics from BHS, the Big 12 Conference, and the IHSA
  • Order athletic awards and monitor guidelines for athletic awards:
    Letters and Numerals, Senior Scholar Athletes, IHSA Scholar Athletes, Howard
    Saar Award, Big 12 Scholar Athletes, Rory Hodgson Award, and Mike Neal Award
  • Cooperate and communicate with other intercity athletic directors for the development of intercity athletic contests and tournaments
  • Develop insurance waivers and parent permit forms each year to be completed for all athletes
  • Collect and maintain current records for athletes in regard to physical examinations
  • Hire game personnel as needed (crowd control, scoreboard operators, etc) and coordinate security for athletic contests
  • Interview and make recommendations concerning the hiring of the coaching staff
  • Make recommendations concerning changes in the athletic program (new sports, levels of competition, number of coaches, etc)
  • Supervise the athletic trainers from ISU
  • Communicate with coaching staff in regards to rule changes, IHSA rules meetings, IHSA
    Tournament assignments, etc
  • Promote and improve public relations within the community
  • BHS liaison to the Booster Club
  • Membership in the local Rotary Club
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned by the Principal
