By
beginning to evaluate students’ strengths and weaknesses early and
continuing to assess progress, students, parents, and educators gain the
information necessary to monitor and guide students as they prepare for
their high school and post-high school goals.
All
students take:
-
The
EXPLORE test which is a precursor to the ACT in September of their
freshman year. This tests students in the following content areas:
English, Math, Reading, and Science Reasoning and provides information
as students transition to the high school.
-
The
PLAN test which is the next step in preparing for the ACT in April
of their Sophomore year. This midpoint review tests students in the
following content areas: English, Math, Reading, and Science
Reasoning.
-
The
Prairie State Achievement Exam (PSAE) is required of all juniors
in the state of Illinois. This tests students in the following areas:
Day 1 – ACT (English, Math, Reading, and Science Reasoning) and Day 2
(Writing, Applied Math, Reading for Information, Science, and Social
Science). This provides information as students begin to transition
to late high school, college, and careers.
