7	Big 12 Conference Recap The BHS boys golf team came out on top this year at the BIG 12 Conference Tournament, held at Champaign Country Club The boys had to battle the recently aerated greens and the strong prevailing winds to capture the title There were several individual winners: Matt Bova- 3^rd; Adam Erickson- 5^th; Zach Jecklin-8^th. The team was led by senior Nick Bova who shot an amazing 88. Wow!

9	2002 Regional Recap The team won regional for the second time in row. This victory was a little more likely than last years. The tournament was played at Kellogg Golf Course on a cold and windy day. Beating Peoria Notre Dame on their home course was a highlight of the day. There were several individual winners: Nick Bova- 2^nd; Matt Bova- T3^rd; Zach Jecklin-T3^rd.

11	2002 Sectional Recap The team finished second in sectionals, qualifying the team to participate in the state tournament. Sectionals was played at Lick Creek golf course, a favorite among most of the BHS golfers. Erickson said, “We play their all the time, it should give us an advantage over teams who are intimidated by the course.” There were several individual winners: Zach Jecklin – T6^th ;
12	2^nd At State
13	2002 AA State Recap With one of the best finishes in the school’s history, the boys golf team placed at the 2002 Class AA State Golf Tournament. The tournament was held at The Den at Fox Creek, located in Bloomington. This home course advantage gave the BHS team just enough of an edge to take second. With up to 40 mph winds, and temperatures dropping below 45 degrees, these were the hardest condition the team had to play in all year. Led by brothers Nick and Matt Bova, both firing a two day total of 158, the team walked away with the second place trophy.

17	Looking on to 2003 Ms. Dickson decided to retire to Florida!! Good luck Ms. D! The new head coach will be Coach Gordon who coached the Lady Raider Golf Team for the past Five Years. The 2003 season is looking very strong for the BHS boys golf team as they return four of their top six. Although after a season such as this one, not much improvement can be made, however the perfect season is always in sight. Go You Raiders!
