BHS-Eisenhower

It's also homecoming for the Purple Raiders (6-0, 3-0 Big 12 West) as they go for their 32nd straight regular-season victory.

BHS, ranked No. 3 in the Class 6A state poll, doesn't figure to have much of a problem with Eisenhower (2-4, 1-1). The Raiders rolled to a 67-6 victory last week against overmatched Rantoul.

While the Raiders haven't lost or been challenged much, they haven't gone through the season unscathed. Senior tight end Dan Cotton, who missed the first couple games after a hernia operation, is lost for the season after suffering a shoulder injury last week.

BHS' defense also could be shorthanded tonight. Cornberback Michael Harrison (bone bruise) and tackle Chris McWhorter (muscle strain) are questionable, according to Coach Rigo Schmelzer.

With St. Louis University High and Champaign Centennial to finish out the regular season, BHS coach Rigo Schmelzer would like to see his team get in a playoff mindset.

"We've had an easy run the last couple weeks," said Schmelzer. "After (tonight), we're going to have to recharge and be more focused. We'll finish the year with two good teams going into the playoffs."
