#23 - Derrick Simmons  5'10" 170  RB/DB

Derrick started at strong safety in every game for the Purple Raiders last season.  He recorded 34 tackles, including four for a loss, and had one quarterback sack.  As a reserve tailback he was third on the team in rushing with 457 yards and scored five touchdowns.  He also returned a blocked punt for a touchdown against Decatur MacArthur.
