Amber (Rock) McGee

Amber enters her fourth year as a softball coach for Bloomington High School.  This is her first year as the head softball coach.  In her first year of coaching, she was the head coach for the JV team which ended up winning the JV Invitational at the end of the year.  In her second and third year, she was the assistant coach for the varsity team.

Amber has been a part of competitive softball for many years.  She was a three sport athlete at Paxton-Buckley-Loda High School, has played on several summer travel teams, and continued her career at Millikin University in Decatur, IL.  While at Millikin, Amber started every game at second base, was co-captain for three years and was on the All-Conference Team all four years.  She still holds the record for most games played in a career, most stolen base attempts and most stolen bases in a game at Millikin University.

Amber earned her bachelor’s degree in Secondary Mathematics Education from Millikin University in Decatur, IL, in 2007.  She is currently pursuing her master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction at Illinois State University in Normal, IL.  Amber has been employed as a math teacher and volleyball and softball coach at Bloomington High School since August of 2007.

In August 2009, Amber married Josh McGee who also attended Millikin University.    Josh is currently working on his master’s in Chemistry at Illinois State University in Normal, IL.  They reside in Bloomington, IL.

  

Lauren Morita

Lauren Morita enters her second year as an assistant softball coach at Bloomington High School after previously serving as an assistant in both the girl’s tennis and girls’ basketball programs at Bloomington High School. Prior to her career at Bloomington, Lauren coached for two years for an 18/under summer softball team called the Homer Hawks from Homer Glen, Illinois.  In addition, she served as a softball assistant at Bloomington Junior High School this past fall and helped lead the team to a 2nd place finish in the IESA state tournament.

A graduate of Lockport (IL) High School, Morita was a member of the 2004 IHSA state softball champions, as well as the 2005 team that qualified for the state tournament. Lauren then attended Millikin University in Decatur where she started every game of her career in centerfield, serving as team captain her final three years. During her collegiate career, she earned All-Conference and Academic All-Conference recognition in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW).

Lauren graduated in 2009 from Millikin University with a bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education in social sciences. Lauren is in her second year of teaching at Bloomington High School.

 

Mark Mason

Mark enters his third year as an assistant softball coach at Bloomington High School.  A native of Galesburg, Mark has played competitive baseball since his youth. As a high school and American Legion player, Mark has experience as a left-handed pitcher, first baseman, and outfielder. 

Mark is currently double majoring in Accounting and Economics at Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington, IL. 

  

Kristen Preissler

Kristen enters her first year as an assistant softball coach at Bloomington High School. 

 

Samantha Siemiawski

Samantha enters her first year as an assistant softball coach at Bloomington High School.  Samantha is from Homer Glen, IL and played softball for Lockport Township High School.  She also played competitive softball in the summer for the Homer Hawks.  Samantha has experience in the middle infield as well as the outfield.

Samantha is currently a student at Illinois State University in Normal, IL.  She is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Secondary Social Sciences Education and she will be graduating in the fall of 2012.
