Revenge
Mari Fike
Revenge-to inflict harm or injury
for a wrong.
Revenge is such a cruel word that bites into one’s once pure soul.
We learn from the beginning to the end of the life that we have to teach ourselves
and our children not to pursue such a bitter word. Just one word can cause
mounting pain and torture to loved ones, direct or indirect. It makes
hearts rot and blister until it boils over and decays in an oozing catastrophe.
Just one word could spread through veins like putrid poison as it mutilates
countries, nations, even the best of friends that were thought to be glued together.
Some people take it lightly, like a feather brushing the sruface of a flat pond.
Some people take the word to the furthest extent, to take lives, to torture.
This retched word is supposed to be taught to be disowned and avoided.
We need to teach our poor children never to be in contact with such a meaningless
word such as revenge.
Then why, might I ask, do I want it?
