Romeo and Juliet

He climbed up the metal fence,
and made his way around the house,
adrenaline pumped, his mind losing sense,
he throws rocks at a window to rouse.
His senses were dizzy,
his eyes were unclear,
thoughts made him busy
and his plan was hard to adhere.

She opened the window and peered,
ready to quiet the clamor,
and then he slowly appeared,
his eyes glinting with enamor.
It was a classic Romeo move,
she’d be unable to resist.
He’d talk to her and have her approve,
or repeatedly continue to persist.
But she, however, was overcome with sleep,
and asked what he was doing at her door.
He confessed his love, his words so deep,
his very heart ready to pour.
She sighed sadly and shook her head
as he emptied his heart and more.
She stopped him at one point and said,
“Romeo, you drunk…Juliet lives next door.”
