Summer Days
Allie Barringer
Drinking lemonade in the shade,
Gives me a cool relief,
As I lean back,
Against an old hickory tree.
I pick out small blades of grass,
As the humidity wraps around me,
I hear the sound of muffled laughs,
As my friends surround me.
We escape to a secret oasis,
A deep pond full of wonder,
I swim in uncontained bliss,
As then I go under.
