Hello all you Lads and Lasses at home...
We are now close to our final show. We had a better show yesterday, but
none of the gun shots worked. I found out after that they were putting
the old caps in hoping they would fire on a second try. GRRRRR!!!! I am
not sure what these tech people were thinking here in Scotland. It seems
as if that were the advice they were given by the armory here. I sure
like our guns at home much better. It is true that our audiences have
been small, but our reviews are great. Most of the directors have been
to see the show and that is a very good sign.
Tonight we do the last show. We will pack up shoes and costumes for the
grads as they will depart for college on our return. It seems odd that
these kids won't be going back to school with us. We will all miss them
terribly!
We had a famous sighting--Joel Burden saw Tim Robbins on the mile. Ben
Johnston-Urey thought he saw Dick Cheney, but it turned out to be a
one-eyed Scotsman. We laughed and laughed at his story. Two of our girls
got on a bus going the wrong way and just stayed on thinking they would
eventually loop around. Two hours later they got to their destination!
That was a long trip!
Annie Prault is still winning the shopping war. Elizabeth Robinson calls
this Retail Therapy. They should all be in fine spirits if that is the
case. Several of the kids went to the Edinburgh Dungeon today. I
declined as I am not a fan of haunted houses. I took 6 on a tour of the
closes that were used as quarantine during the black plague. It was a
bit spooky, but the history was interesting. There are places there that
date back to the 16th century. It is hard to imagine since everything is
so "new" in America.
Okay, here are the current award winners:
* Worst Offender of Curfew: Annie Prault--she will be working if off this
evening
* Over Slept Award: Rick and Micheal Coons--like father like son
*
Campus flirt: Dan Walther--he has made many aquaintences since arriving
in Edinburgh
*
Most Weapons bought and coming home: Garrett--and he seems like such a
peaceful boy!
General Hospital:
* Cheri Joslin--bad cold--took one too many Sudafed and had to go home and
sleep it off. She is doing better today though
*
Harry Watermeier--lips and healing nicely
* Amanda Purcell is super now
* Cassandra Clingon--learned the lesson of wearing heavy socks with boots.
She has two nasty blisters, but Nurse Julie bandaged her up nicely.
*
A few sore throats and sniffles. Could it be from running around without
jackets in this cool weather??? (I made 6 of them go and gets coats for
our trip to the Tattoo against their will.) Everyone was glad they had
them by nightfall.
Look for us on Friday around 10 pm. I will call Patrick from Chicago and
alert him as to our arrival time at BHS. He will call the phone tree.
Unlike the kids, I am ready to come home! I need the rest!
Susan
