Prerequisites: Pre-Calculus and Department Permission
This course covers both differential and integral Calculus and is comparable to one and one-half semesters of calculus at the college level. The amount of study time needed will also be comparable to a college level course. Students should plan their schedules accordingly. Study groups are highly recommended throughout this course. This course follows the College Board Advanced Placement Syllabus and students are strongly encouraged to take the Advanced Placement Exam in May. Students scoring 3 or higher (out of 5) on these tests are generally eligible for college credit and/or placement. There is an additional cost associated with the AP Exams. Technology: HP-48G Graphing calculators by Hewlett Packard are loaned to students during their enrollment. Students have an opportunity to purchase one of these calculators during the 4th quarter of the year.
