Honors Geometry

Prerequisites: Algebra 1 and Department Permission

This rigorous geometry course includes plane, spatial, transformational, and coordinate geometries. It emphasizes logical thinking and applies algebraic concepts to geometric figures. Topics covered include angles, lines, planes, triangles (congruent, similar, and right), circles, areas, solids, volume, constructions, transformations, and geoemtry on the Cartesian plane. Geometric constructions are explored and algebra skills are maintained throughout the year. The pace is rapid, projects are required, and the subject is covered deeply and thoroughly. Extra study time is needed for this course.

Technology: Scientific calculators are required for this course.
