Factoring Practice

You must have Java 1.1 (or higher) to view this applet.

BUG ALERT!!!

I was recently informed of a bug in this program.  If you put an asterisk (times sign) in between the parentheses, the program will NOT recognize correct answers.

Until I get it fixed, there is a simple workaround - DON'T use the asterisk.

For example, enter (2x + 3)(4x-1) instead of (2x+3)*(4x-1)

This applet is designed to provide practice factoring polynomials.  It is appropriate for students in Algebra 1 through Calculus.

It has tested on the Windows platform in Internet Explorer, Netscape, Opera, and Mozilla. It has also been tested on Macintosh OS X, however, testing on the classic Macintosh platform has been unreliable as it has worked on some machines, but not others.   Like any computer program, this one probably has some undiscovered bugs and should be considered a "work-in-progress".  I hope you find this useful, and welcome any suggestions, comments or bug reports .
