Prerequisites: Algebra 1
This course is designed to teach problem solving using the Java computer programming language. The emphasis is on Object-Oriented programming and solving mathematical problems using computers. Team work, projects, lab activities, and meeting deadlines are expected in this course. The first semester will focus on introductions to the history of computers, the Java programming language, classes, objects, methods and object-oriented programming. Decisions, loops, HTML and applets are topics found in the second semester. Technology: IBM compatible computers are supplied in the classroom, however the content of this course does not require IBM compatible computers.
