Review:
Main Characters: Eragon and Saphira (Dragon)
Setting: Alagaesia
Conflict: Eragon must learn to become a dragon rider while avoiding the
King Galbatorix, who wants to thwart him.
Interesting incident: One of my favorite occurences from the story would
have to be when Eragon finally realizes Brom was a dragon rider.
"Eragon splashed wine into his hand again. He scrubbed vigorously as a
brown dye floated off of Brom's palm, then stopped, his mouth agape, with
amazement. There on Brom's palm was the gedwey ignasia 'You're a rider? he
asked incredulously."
What I like about that moment was that this man, this mysterious storyteller
who forced Eragon to make him come along, someone he had cared about, had
been a dragon rider all this time.
Who would enjoy this book? Teenagers, young adults,or anyone who could
appreciate a book like this.
Closing Statment: Mr. Paolini was 15 when he conceived Eragon. Eragon has
been on the New York Time's bestselling list. This is Christopher's first
book in the trilogy. The landscape is based on his home in Montana. The cover
art is by Jude Palancar.
Eragon is a truly enchanting book. A young boy who lives in Palancar Valley
who discovers along with a dragon, he's so much more. A wonderfully delightful,
fantastic book that pushes the boundaries of human creativity and imagination.
Only Eldest can top this, where the adventure continues.
