March 8th, 2008:
BLOOMINGTON USES THE SEMIFINAL ROUND TO WIN STATE TITLE!
The BJHS wrestling team used a
phenominal semifinal round to propel them towards the schools first ever
back-to-back state championship. The Knights advanced all six wrestlers
from the semifinals to the championship match allowing them to pull away from
New Lenox and Mahomet. Bloomington's aggressive style proved to be the
difference maker for the knights in the big matches. The knights crowned
champions David Watts (126), Alex Bee (135), and Demetrius West (275).
Runner-ups included: Derrik Watts (75), Bracky Kruse (85), and Parker Johnson
(90). Jonathon Wimp (155) capped off a great 1st year of wrestling by
capturing 5th place at the state meet.
March 1st, 2008:
BLOOMINGTON WINS SECTIONAL CROWN, ADVANCES 15 TO STATE
The Knights traveled to Reed-Custer for the
2008 Sectional. BJHS came home with the sectional crown and advanced 15 to the
IESA State Tournament. Qualifying for the Knights were: Michael Bell @ 65,

BLOOMINGTON WINS REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP:
The post-season began with the Knights
traveling to Parkside for the Regionals. Bloomington dominated the competition
by advancing 26 wrestlers to the Reed-Custer Sectional. Advancing for the

Bloomington traveled to LeRoy for one
final tournament before regionals. Bloomington took the championship,
outlasting Parkside. Placing for the Knights:

BLOOMINGTON DOMINATES GLENWOOD INVITATIONAL
The Knights continued to roll through the competition by winning the
Glenwood Invitational. The Knights had a very successful day placing all
wrestlers.

The Knights won the Mahomet Invitational outlasting Mahomet who took 2nd.

BLOOMINGTON WINS CHANNAHON INVITATIONAL:
The Knights responded after a loss to Mahomet 2 days prior by capturing the
championship at the Channahon Invitational. This tournament is one of the
most prestigious tournaments in the IESA. The Knights placed 1st while
Mahomet was 2nd and Homer Glenn was 3rd. Placing for the Knights were:

There has been a schedule change. Instead
of going to the Dekalb Varsity tournament on Monday, January 14th; we will
instead be attending the Channahon Varsity tournament on Saturday, January 12th.
November 28, 2007:
Any family that would like to donate wrestling shoes can do so and it would be
greatly appreciated by the BJHS coaching staff. Right now we are running
short of all sizes but are really struggling with the bigger sizes.

OCTOBER 30TH, 2007:
Homer Glenn Middle School has agreed to be in the BJHS Varsity Tournament
this year! Homer Glenn is a very competitive wrestling team that finished
6th at the IESA State Tournament last season. This now puts the 1st
place, 2nd place, 6th place and 7th place teams from last year in the same
tournament.
