Assessment and testing are important elements in education. Assessments are used in Bloomington Public Schools for the following purposes:
- •Gather accurate information about student achievement
- •Identify strengths and needs in the instructional program
- Identify students in need of additional intervention
- •Identify student for special programs
Bloomington Public Schools assesses students in grades 1 through 11 using standardized and/or state tests. Parents receive information about their children's performance through written reports and during Parent/Teacher Conferences. Summaries of the district-wide performance on state tests are included in the District Report Card.
