Family Involvement Information

Because we value the involvement of families, we schedule activities at varying times and days. In addition, we offer a wide variety of opportunities for involvement.

Family Activities:

Lunch Bunch:  Come to school and enjoy lunch with your child and other families.  We meet from 11:15 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. every other month.  We will eat lunch together and  do a craft or have a special guest.

Sarah Raymond is teaming up with other community organizations such as Normal Public Schools, Partners in Parenting, Children's Home & Aid, and Heartland Head Start.  There will be four events throughout the year hosted in various locations including Sarah Raymond.  These events are Harvest Hoedown, Spirit of Giving, Chili Supper, and Books Alive.

Parent Only Activities:

Help-A-Teacher Day:  Volunteer to help out your child's teacher.  Come do projects such as tracing, laminating, cutting, and making copies. Fliers will be sent home to inform you of the dates.

Educational Seminars:  We will have various parent only activities scheduled on education topics such as nutrition, talking with your child, children's literature, and disciplining your child.

Volunteer:

Special Events:  There will be various special events such as the Fall Festival where you can come and help run games and do crafts with students.

Other:  Teachers appreciate the donation of craft and snack items.  This extra material is of great importance in offering our students a variety of items and stretching our budget for nutritional snacks and activities.

You will receive flyers on events which will give specifics on dates of events and descriptions of activities.  Please check your child's bag daily to look for these flyers.
