A complete physical and immunizations are required in order to enter school. A lead screening must also be completed. Students who become ill at school must be picked up immediately to prevent the spread of illness. Students must be able to keep food/liquids down for 24 hours before returning to school. Students should be fever-free for at least 24 hours before returning to school following an illness. Following an incident with head lice, students must be checked by the school secretary or nurse and be "nit-free" before being allowed to re-enter school. Medications should only be administered at school when no alternative can be arranged. There is District policy regarding the administration of medication, so please contact the principal before sending any to school. No over-the-counter medications such as cough medicine or cough drops should be sent to school. Medication should not be transported between baby-sitter/day care and home using the child's book bag. This is for your child's own protection. Allergies - Students with food allergies must provide a note from their doctor stating what foods/liquids must not be eaten, what symptoms are caused by the foods/liquids and what foods/liquids should be given instead.
