The second Irving School was funded by a bond issue that also included the construction costs for a new Emerson and Edwards School, and an addition to the recently completed Washington School. The bond issue was approved by the voters on April 6, 1903.
This new Irving School was located next to the original school – on the corner of Jackson and Mason Streets. In 1976, this building was mostly demolished – except for the wing on the farthest right – and a third version of Irving School was built. The "saved" wing is located on the Jackson Street side of the building and is currently used as classrooms.
