How may a student get an appointment to see a counselor?
Students may complete a conference request form, available in the Student Services office. They may also request an appointment through this website. Typically, students are seen the day following the request. Students needing immediate assistance for emergency situations may request a meeting for the same day.
Families may refer their student for a meeting with the counselor. They may do so by calling the counselor or using the website form.
Teachers or other school personnel may refer a student for a meeting.
How can I find out what my student's homework is? Each student has been issued a planner for the purpose of recording each day's homework. Consider requiring that your student show you a completed planner and homework prior to getting your permission for other activities after school. Many teams have established websites on which teachers list their assignments.
What if my child needs help on homework? Teachers can provide extra help during the Enrichment and Re-teaching (E&R) time of the day to those students needing help. It is very important for students to let teachers know when they are needing help. Failure to do so may result in teachers thinking that a confused student has simply neglected to attempt homework. At times, teachers are available to offer extra assistance before or after school. It may also be helpful to ask your student to bring home all study guides or books used with the assignment. Oftentimes, these materials help in completing assignments.
