Welcome to 8J English!
Dear Parents and Students,
I am very excited to begin this school year at BJHS! I am new to the school, as well as the area. I hope that we can all work together in order for us to have the most successful year.
I feel it is important that I take this time to briefly explain my philosophy of education. As a teacher, I accept the responsibility to prepare effective lessons, be respectful and compassionate to every student I meet, encourage and work with students who may struggle or want to “give up,” and challenge students who want to extend his or her knowledge. In return, I choose to establish high expectations for my students with regards to academics, behavior, and peer interactions. I do my best to model these positive values throughout my day, and I do not accept anything less than that from my students. I want each of my students to have a successful year by growing in their academic achievements and personal responsibilities.
