Bohne's Bio
I moved from the Southwest Chicago suburb of Palos Heights to Bloomington/Normal in 1977 to attend Illinois Wesleyan University. I received a B.S. in Theater from there. I am also an alumni of Illinois State University and hold both a Bachelors and Masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction. I continue to take classes at Illinois State and teach the Elementary Collections class as a part of the Elementary Librarianship coursework.
I have been lucky enough to teach at Stevenson School in District 87 for over 20 years. For most of that time I taught fourth grade, but moved into the Learning Center to become the "Guybrarian" in 2001. Books and computers, what could be better!
I am married and have two children. My wife, Mary, is a teacher in the Olympia School District. I have two children, Fletcher a student a Webster University, and Flannery, a student at Normal West High School.
I enjoy magic and have been performing for more than 30 years. I also enjoy gardening and hiking.
The Moveable Feast is made for me as I learned to move at an early age and I eat nearly every day! I attended "The Feast" during its second year in Bloomington and went back for a second helping three years ago. It is delicious! I am excited to be a trainer again this year.
One of my passions is making movies. Check out some examples at the Stevenson School Movies webpage. The most recent project is Info Man, a super hero with powers not unlike mortal men!
The greatest task before civilization at present is to make machines what they ought to be, the slaves, instead of the masters of men. ~Havelock Ellis Become the master!
