| Welcome to Second Grade! |
My name is Diane Johnson. I will be your child's teacher this year. I am in my 12th year of
teaching. I have taught 8 years at Oakland School and 4 years in Colorado.
I am a native of Bloomington. I attended Oakland School as a young girl. I then went to
BJHS and BHS. I graduated from Illinois Wesleyan University with a degree in Elementary Education.
My first year out of college, I was hired to teach Second Grade at Oakland School. I taught
with five teachers who taught me as a student. I knew I would be mentored very well that
year.
I am married to Rick. We have three sons. My sons attended Oakland school as well. My oldest son,
Levi is a junior at Illinois State University. My middle son, Marcus is a sophomore at
Illinois State University and plays football for the Redbirds. My youngest son, Parker is a junior at
Bloomington High School. He plays ice hockey for the Peoria Mustangs Junior A team. We have a
new Boxer puppy. Her name is Belle and she is 3 months old. She is our only girl and, of course,
she is our "princess"
