Your student will have home work Monday through Thursday each week.
Students will need to complete a spelling and math assignment every evening.
In addition to the homework, students will need to read each evening. This reading will count
towards their reading goal of 400 minutes per month. They are also
able to take Reading Counts quizzes on what they read at home as well as
at school.
In order to master the addition and subtraction facts, it would also be wise to practice with
flashcards. Remember the students need to know the facts through 18.
Here are the spelling assignments for the week:
Monday - Write each word three times.
Tuesday - Write each word in a super sentence.
Wednesday - Write the words in ABC order.
Thursday - Write a short story using at least 6 or more of the words.
Math Assignments will vary. The practice will be over the concepts we are covering in the
chapter.
Occasionally, your student will come home and tell you that it is a "SKIPPITY- DO-DAH-DAY".
That means it is their lucky day and they DO NOT have homework.
If school is not scheduled the next day, they DO NOT have homework.
