Trainer Bio

2009 marks my fourth year as a Feast Trainer of the Moveable Feast.  I love to play around and
learn new forms of technology and I continually try to find ways to incorporate technology into my
classroom.  As a
member of ICE, I have attended the technology conference (IL-TEC) for the last
several years and gained many ideas of ways to enrich my curriculum and my teaching using
technology.  I have attended ant presented a classroom project at
Tech 2007 in Springfield, IL as
well as a poster session at the ICE conference with two other teachers from my school.  My teaching
techniques have been enriched by the use of computers, digital cameras and the installation of a
smartboard in my classroom.
I have used a variety of technology tools in my teaching: Microsoft Suite
(Word, PowerPoint, Publisher, Excel, and FrontPage), Microsoft Photostory 3, Microsoft MovieMaker
,
Unitedstreaming, Scholastic Reading Inventory, and F.T.C. Publishing Software.
For those participants
of the Moveable Feast, I encourage you to look at everything available to you, knowing that your goal
is to come away from the Feast with something that you can use in your classroom setting.  Don't be afraid to ask questions, I will be doing the same as we are always learning.  Most importantly, have fun!

A little background about me. . . I completed my undergraduate studies at Bradley University
with a double major in Early Childhood Education and Elementary Education and earned my Master's Degree in Special Education at Illinois State University.  I live here in Bloomington with my husband and my 5 children.

Next year I will be teaching fourth grade at
Stevenson School in District 87.
When I'm not teaching, I keep very busy attending a variety of my own children's school and sporting events, cleaning my house, scrapbooking, doing laundry, buying and selling on ebay (mostly buying), playing with my kids at home, reading and playing around on the computer.
