Assignment- Photographic Composition -

Composition is the arrangement of subject matter within at photograph. Click here to see an example of the website you need to create for this assignment.

One of the main reasons why some pictures are more outstanding than others is because of their strong composition. Let's consider how composition can improve your photographs.

Directions:  Study the information at this website. It contains information regarding 6 guidelines for good photographic composition. You will work with a partner to complete the following assignment.  Take 2 pictures representing each of the elements of photographic composition, one poor example and one quality example.  You will have a total of 12 pictures.  Then under each set of pictures write a short explanation of your examples.  When you are finished with the assignment, you each need to post it to your individual websites. Also check out some of the nice shots on this different website.

Example:

The busy background on the left camouflages the seagull. We changed our point of view slightly and the seagull stands out against the blue sky.
