Assignment - Type Flyer
Directions: Create 3 flyers for an event using only type and 2 or
3 background shapes. Do not use any art for this project.
Steps
- Create a rectangle to represent the paper of the flyer
- Draw another shape to highlight your headline, subhead, or body copy.
- Make sure you have 3 distinct levels of type
- Large type for the headline
- Medium size for the subhead
- Small size for the body copy
- Choose a bold Sans Serif or Novelty font for you headline.
- Choose easy-to-read sans serif or novelty fonts for your subheads and
body copy.
- Be creative and try and make your design interesting. Use the text path
tool, sheering tool and other tools to be creative.
Grading
- Are there 3 distinct levels of type? 1-2-3-4-5
- Is the type used correctly? Bold for headlines and easy to read for other
parts. 1-2-3-4-5
- Is the design interesting, intentionally disturbing, or pleasing to the
eye? 1-2-3-4-5
- Good use of dead space? 1-2-3-4-5
- Do the shapes help to move the viewer's eye around the page? 1-2-3-4-5
