Flash

Flash is a multi-media application. This means that it is used for creating multi-media presentations. A multi-media presentation can include photos, art, graphics, animation, audio, and video. It could contain any or all of these parts.

Flash also has the ability to export a file that is internet friendly. In other words it can be put on a website or made into a website.

One very important feather of flash is that it is that it is interactive.

An important fact to understand is that flash creates two different formats.They have different extensions and different icons.

• The .fla is the editible flash file. You save this file and open it to work on your project. You can add or delete content and make changes. It's editible.
• The .swf file is the playable file. Your computer needs to have "flash player" installed for these files to run. They are not editble.

Part I

Working with the teacher, create a presentation that includes the following:

• 2 bouncing balls going in different directions. Note: each ball should be on a different layer.
• 2 non-circular objects like a rectangle that use rotation and regular animation. Also on individual layers
• 2 statinary objects that vary in color and opacity
• 2 stationary objects that vary in size and proportion
• A stop action

Part II

Using Illustrator, create a three part logo that animates into a single piece. You will paste the individual pieces into flash separately

Add a goto action and a button that when clicked morphs the logo into different form

Use your design skills to make the logo attractive and visually appealing.

Part III

Using Flash create a 3 page website with 3 buttons that are all connected to the pages.

Grading

Part I - 2 points for each shape that animates correctlly according to directions and 4 points for the stop action. 20 points total
