3rd Quarter Book Report

Mystery Book Report                      Due:  Thursday, February 24th

Mobile

1.  Choose a mystery chapter book at your lexile level and read it.  Mrs. Davis must approve your book.

2.  Design a mobile that includes the story elements of your book.  Neatness in handwriting, coloring, and construction will be considered.  The more creative you are, the better.  Use wire, paper, fabric, string, or other materials that will enhance the appearance of your mobile.  Be sure to include the following things and label each one:

             a.       Title, author, illustrator

(What is the name of the book?  Who are the author and illustrator?)

Double-check spelling and capitals.  Look for credits to identify an illustrator.

b.      Characters

(Who are the major characters?  How are they related?)

Include pictures.  Check spelling.

c.      Settings

(Where is the location?  What is the season or time in history?)

Include a picture.

d.      Problem

(What is the major problem for the characters in the story?)

Include a picture.  Statements should be in correct sentence form.  Check for correct spelling, capitalization and punctuation.

e.      Solution

(What specifically happens to resolve the problem?)

Include a picture.  Statements should be in correct sentence form.  Check for correct spelling, capitalization and punctuation.

f.       Your opinion

(What did you think of the book?  Why?  How would you rate the book?)

3.  At school, you will share your mobile report with the class.  Your classmates may ask you questions about your book or project, so be prepared.  Take some time to practice your presentation at home with your family as the audience.  Please bring your book on the day of the presentation.
