About Mrs. Brandon

Welcome to my website!  I am very excited to teach in 6H2.  I teach mathematics, science, and social studies.  This is my fourth year at BJHS, and I am proud to say I was once a student at BJ! 

Prior to teaching here at BJHS, I taught in Chicago.  I taught in a K-8 school near Midway Airport for those of you who are familiar with the Chicago area.  I think teaching is a wonderful way to spend my days, and I can't think of any other job I would rather do. 

This summer I look forward to camping, traveling, taking graduate school classes and relaxing.  I hope that you are relaxing as well!!

I have a lot of family in the Bloomington area, and I am glad to be living close to them.  My husband is a graphic designer in Peoria, and my parents and older brother live here in Bloomington.  My older sister is a doctorate student at the University of Tennessee, and her husband, a P.E. and wellness teacher, and two wonderful children, Lena and Frankie, are enjoying life in Knoxville, TN.  My little brother is currently traveling in Asia and then will be living in Texas.

In my time away from teaching, I enjoy reading, spending time with my family and friends, running, and traveling.  In the summers I often like to travel.  One summer I backpacked through Central America, and that trip included visiting Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Honduras, and Guatemala.  During a different summer, I backpacked around Europe.  I think culture is fascinating so I am excited to teach you about ancient cultures during social studies this year!   

I hope that everyone had a wonderful summer.  I am very excited to get to know everyone and to be your 6th grade teacher here at BJHS!  See you in August!
