ALCOHOL, DRUGS AND TOBACCO
OBJECTIVES: To allow the students to gain more knowledge about substance use, abuse and misuse. Also, learn ways to provide stress relief without the abuse of a substance.
CURRICULUM: The curriculum will be split up into 7 different sections and each section will be assignment to a particular group of students. The group of students will then do research, make a poster, develop handouts (pamphlets) and an oral lecture about many different topics concerning their section. The teacher will make sure the guidelines are followed and no inaccuracies are taught.
MATERIALS USED: Poster, pamphlets, handouts and an overhead projector.
HANDS ON LEARNING: This unit is student taught. The students will go to a computer center/library and gather information from approved websites and develop a curriculum that will help other students with information that will help them make better choices for their futures.
