ESL Curriculum
Curriculum Overview
The  ESL curriculum at Oakland School uses grade-level content to help children acquire English. We supplement classroom content with English language lessons in a daily half-hour small-group class. We are very excited to begin using for the first time the excellent ESL program, Spotlight On English.

In ESL, we will focus on the English language in its four modalities: speaking, listening, reading, and writing. In every unit, language lessons will include activities that include unfamiliar vocabulary, embedded grammar practice, extra attention to reading and writing, and background knowledge that involves the culture of Illinois and the United States.

I look forward to an exciting and rewarding school year as we explore the fascinating world of the English language! Info here.
