Arrival:
School Hours are
Attendance: Regular attendance without tardiness is a
key.
Assemblies:
Each day we will start with an all school assembly.
During that time we will be greeted by our principal, hear information,
and say our school pledge and the Pledge of Allegiance.
Backpacks: Your child should
bring their backpack or school bag to school every day! Please remember to check
your child’s backpack every night after school for important notes, art
projects, homework folder and etc.
Birthdays: Students are welcome to bring in store bought juice and snacks for birthdays. Please let me know two days in advance.
Book Orders: Throughout the year I will send home book orders.
Clothes:
Please send your child to school in clothes appropriate for learning. Please make sure that your child has an
extra change of clothing: shirt, pants, underwear, socks, etc: just in case they
have a toileting accident!
Differentiated Instruction: Because all children are unique and special, they may be at many different instructional levels.
Dismissal: Dismissal is
at 3:15.
Students who will be picked up will be at the flag pole at the front of
the building.
Field Trips:
We will have several field trips during the school year. We often need parent
volunteers on the trips.
Homework: Homework will be sent home each Monday. Please return the homework to school in your child's book bag. Students will receive prizes for completed homework!
Illness: It is important to keep your child home if he/she is ill. They must be fever free for 24 hours.
Lending Library: A packet of books will be sent home each Monday for you and your child to read. Books should be returned to school on Thursday's. Each packet contains books and a home school link to be completed and signed. Participants receive a free pizza at the end of each month through our Pizza Hut "Book It" program.

I will be sending home newsletters throughout the year to inform you on our
themes and upcoming events.
Outside
Time:
The children will be going outside during lunch recess from
Parental Involvement: Your support of school activities makes
your child feel
important and sends the message that you value school! Let me know if you are
interested in volunteering. This
year a new policy will require all volunteers to go through a background check.
Parent/Teacher Conferences: Parent / Teacher Conferences will be held in October and
February. Other Parent / Teacher Conferences can be scheduled as needed.
Parties &
Celebrations: We will have class parties from time to time for
special occasions and holidays. I
will send home a sign up sheet ahead of time if you would like to participate in
the party or send in items.
Report Cards: Report cards will be sent home four times throughout the school year.
Transportation:
If you plan to pick up a child that normally rides the bus, you must send a
written note or call the school office. Do not rely on your child to tell us
this information, because children often become confused and relay information
incorrectly. If no written note is received and you have not called the
school office, your child will be sent home by his/her usual method of
transportation.
Visitors: ALL GUESTS (including familiar faces) are required to check in at the office and wear a guest badge.
