Moveable Feast ... the 2011 Blend

My Bio "twitter" Style

I'm the library media specialist for a K-5 building who enjoys books, tinkering with technology, and any drink from Starbucks.  (The Venti Version)

From Taste-Tester to Tech Barista
My journey with the Moveable Feast began over 13 years ago at the University of Illinois in Urbana.  After years of being a Feast "regular," I joined the team of tech baristas in 2006.  Almost every technology skill or tool I apply today has been nurtured by District 87's staff development opportunities.

Venti Views ... My Feast Advice
» When a Starbucks addict carelessly gulps freshly brewed Pike Place Roast, s/he is likely to burn taste buds and become somewhat desensitized...for at least a few hours.  6+ hours of tech exploration per day can lead to haphazard learning if you simply inhale one resource after another, without a plan.  Caution:  Pace yourself.  Dive into as many Feast resources as possible...sip, sip, and sip some more...but think about long-term learning, too.  Choose a tool to organize or "tag" web resources to savor at a later date.
» Build a P.L.N.--some call that a personal learning network, others refer to it as a passionate learning network.  Use this week to network personally and digitally...look for resources that will keep you percolating through your tech journey.  Shelly Terrell outlines a variety of PLN resources in one of her "Teacher Reboot Camp" blog posts.
