Mr. Owens 8H Math
My name is Mr. Owens, and I am very excited to be a teacher on the 8H
team. This is my third year on the best
team in the school. I will be teaching
Pre Algebra, Concepts of Algebra, and Algebra 1. I received my bachelor’s degree from Illinois State University. I am currently working on my Masters Degree
in Math also from ISU.
I am from Walnut, IL, a very small town about an hour and a half northwest of
Bloomington/Normal. I am married to my
beautiful wife Megan. She is excited to
be teaching 6th grade math at
Kingsley Junior High. I am the oldest of
four children and the only boy. I have a
24 year old sister who graduated from Eastern Illinois, and currently is
employed for the Law Dept. at the University
of Illinois (GO
ILLINI). I have two15 year old sisters
that are going to be sophomores in High School in Neoga, IL. My family moved down to Lake Mattoon
and our house is literally 15 ft from the water, which is awesome because I
love to fish. I am a huge Cubs, Bears,
and Bulls fan. In my spare time I enjoy
reading fiction books.
This year I hope to engage my students in the world of mathematics. My students will be encouraged to do their
best in each level of math by means of constructive individual and group
