My name is Lisa Penner and I am a graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. My education prepared me to teach all music, from Kindergarten through twelfth grade, but I always knew I wanted to teach elementary school. This is my eighth year teaching at Oakland School and I love it!

I am married to my husband Jon. We have a black Labrador retriever named Ruby and two daughters,
Dana and Claire Penner.

In fourth grade music class, your student will learn to play the recorder, a wind instrument.  Each student is required to have a recorder beginning in fourth grade.  They will use it during their fourth and fifth grade years and then will take the instrument with them when they leave Oakland School.

Below are PDF links to all of the recorder music tested throughout the year.  Additional useful resources are also linked below. Click on each item to view.
