Guess My Rule!

In Guess My Rule, you want to use the sliders to find the values of the parameters in the RED function...in other words, you want to manipulate the blue function so that it is exactly on top of the red function.  You want to pay attention to learn the "JOB" of each variable parameter in each type of function.  In this graph, you may generate questions like the ones below to unlock the secrets of the parameters in this function.

  • Which parameter changes the frequency?

  • How do you make the period shorter or longer?

  • Which parameter moves the function up or down?

  1. Download the worksheet and save it to your h: drive and call it Guess My Rule.

Download the Student Worksheet  - Click on the name blank and type your name.  Then close the header and your name will be on each page.  At that point, either print the worksheets and write your answers on it OR type in your answers and print the worksheets when you're done.
