Conclusions

  after analyzing the data, we are now ready to present our findings to you.

            ---> Honors math students do listen to more classical music than regular    math students

        ---> Regular math students do listen to more rap music than honors math students

        ---> Honors math students also listen to more pop music and more hip-hop music than regular math students  (gasp of surprise)

 

We cannot say positively that this means that if you listen to certain types of music, you'll be in a higher math class.  There are other factors involved, including:

~Students might not have been placed in the right level by counselors.

~The type marked as "most listened to" could only be for the present.  They might have only recently started listening to that type of music.

~It is also possible that because a student is in a higher level math class, he/she listens to a certain type of music.  Thus, it might be that math affects the music, and not the other way around. (Confounding!)

However, we have shown that there is a relationship between the type of music a student listens to and what level of math that student is in.
