Tasks

Tasks can

·         be journalistic in nature where students gather info from primary sources, transform info into a report in a journalistic way, and/or emphasize accuracy, completeness and lack of bias.  Example: Mexico City Earthquake    http://students.itec.sfsu.edu/edt628/mexquake/earthquakers.html

·         have design as the focus.  They can solve a problem, create a product or develop a process, work within constraints, and/or apply creativity.  Example:  Structures WebQuest  http://www.district87.org/staff/powelln/structures/default.html

·         investigate consensus by taking on one of several contending perspectives, accommodate differences where possible, and/or work together to create a common solution.  Example:  Vietnam  http://students.itec.sfsu.edu/itec815/mcmullin/

·         find self-knowledge.

 Note:  It's likely that the task in a given WebQuest will combine elements of two or more of these task categories.
