  1. CCCnet has original, interactive curriculum - free now but soon to be subscription-based
  2. Calculators Online Ever wonder how many uses a calculator can have? Visit Calculators On Line for demonstrations of using this powerful tool for weddings, sports, life insurance, science and even mathematics.
  3. Calculus &Mathematica Distance Education Program The University of Illinois at Urbana - Champaign Distance Education Program is the part of the Calculus & Mathematicaproject that teaches students who are not located on the University of Illinois campus. DEP brings students and university professors together to form a human electronic community devoted to learning mathematics.
  4. Calculus Modules Online
  5. Can you balance a household budget and a national budget?
  6. Career Resource Guide for Teachers by Elizabeth Berg and Pat Reisdorf
  7. Career Web
  8. Mathematics of Cartography explores mathematical topics associated with maps. It includes a history of cartography, the basics of scale, longitude and latitude, projections, career information, teachers' notes, and a rich list of geography links. Problems use web-based technologies to solve.
  9. Cassette Tape ProjectThis project can be used when students are studying or after they have studied quadratic functions. Other topics include Modeling, function graphing, quadratic and linear relations, data collecting and analysis, best-fit lines, analysis and interpretation of graphs, and optimization.
  10. Circles of Light: The Mathematics of Rainbows How are rainbows formed? Why do they only occur when the sun is behind the observer? If the sun is low on the horizon, at what angle in the sky should we expect to see a rainbow? This lab helps to answer these and other questions by examining a mathematical model of light passing through a water droplet.
  11. City Park ProjectYou own a contract company which builds playgrounds. The city of San Jose has asked your company to submit a bid for a new neighborhood park. The location and size of the playground are on the attached map. As part of this bid, you must do the following: develop and calculate the cost of building the playground; make a scale drawing; and make a model of the playground.
  12. Cereal Box Problem
  13. Currency Comparison is a well structured activity for students to compare the buying power of $5.00 American with $5.00 Australian.
  14. The Customized Box Factory- Experience the Problem Solving and Mathematical Reasonings encountered by a box factory that has to design and create boxes to accommod ate odd shapes. The Problem Solving and Mathematical Reasoning accommodates easy to difficult skills of both teacher s and students. (This link also has a more complex lesson on designing a city park.)
  15. College Preparatory Mathematics: CPM is a complete math program for high school students who want to learn the basics and more.
  16. The Connected Curriculum Project presents an interdisciplinary approach to calculus.
