Cassette
Tape Project This project can
be used when students are studying or after they have studied
quadratic functions. Other topics include Modeling, function
graphing, quadratic and linear relations, data collecting and
analysis, best-fit lines, analysis and interpretation of graphs,
and optimization.
Graph Paper Printer - FREE software to download to print graph paper with cartesian or polar coordinates including linear, logarithmic, quadratic or gaussian
Math Puzzles - varying levels of problems given here!
Mathematics
Problems from The Virtual School. Math, algebra , and geometry problems posted twice a month with Internet links for gathering the data needed to solve the problems.
MathMagic is a K-12 telecommunications project developed in El Paso, Texas.
It provides strong motivation for students to use computer
technology while increasing problem-solving strategies and
communications skills. MathMagic posts challenges in each of four
categories (k-3, 4-6, 7-9
and10-12) to trigger each registered team to pair up with another team and engage in a problem-solving dialog. When an agreement has been reached, one solution is posted for every pair.
Math Puzzles - Find a new Math puzzle each week....
MathsNet Puzzles - a variety of different kinds of math puzzles, including logic puzzles, sequences, mazes, and more.
Understanding
Algebraic Factoring While working through algebraic
factoring it is helpful to remember that all you are doing is
working with breaking up and putting back together squares and
rectangles!
Understanding
Factoring Through Geometry -- A collection of lessons on
factoring from Forum Teacher Associate Suzanne Alejandre. Using
algebra tiles, students find a geometric basis for factoring.
Word Problems - problems are arranged in grade levels - grades 5 through 12
