Do you really understand where our tax dollars go?  The taxing districts that  receive the money are charged with spending it wisely, making sure essential services are provided.  But just as it is difficult for each of us to prioritize how we spend our money, the same is true for local government.  All taxing bodies can easily spend more money than they receive, so hard choices--often compromise choices made by committee--must be made.  To understand the necessity and difficulty of prioritizing local government spending, we will play the budget game.
