Frequently Asked Questions
Here is a list of questions that might be helpful for both students and parents. If you can't find the answer you're looking for, please feel free to contact me.
Q: How are Grades determined?
A: Your child's grades should never be a surprise to you as your child
receives a hardcopy of his/her grades once a week. No late work
will be accepted, unless the student has an excused absence.
Q: How can I find out more about assigned
work?
A: Homework is written on the assignment board and posted on the web.
It is your child's responsibility to copy assignments/homework from the
board into his/her agenda daily. If this isn't happening, you may
look online under the section called Assignments.
Q: Do you give out Detentions? When do
they need to be served?
A: Please refer to your purple
Student Handout on page 11 which states, "A teacher may assign a
detention for a variety of infractions up to, but no longer than one 1/2
hour after school. Students/parents receive 24 hour notice" - If
the detention is issued on a Monday, then the detention should be served
the following day. We understand that extenuating circumstances
with transportation may arise and are willing to try to help if
possible. However, repeat offenders will not be given the same
consideration as first time offenders. There are NO lunch
detentions because this would require us to give up our lunch time to sit
with your child.
Q: Do you loan out technology equipment for
home use?
A: Each student is responsible for all technology equipment that they
use. All students must sign an Equipment Pledge, which allows them
to check out any equipment. All items must be returned in the
same working order in which it was received.
