About Me and Contact Stuff

Parents and Guardians:

With this letter I would like to introduce myself as your child’s SCIENCE teacher for the 2007 – 2008  school year.  This is my second year at Bloomington High School and my fourth year as a teacher.  I grew up in a northern suburb of Chicago called Skokie.  After graduating high school, I chose to attend the University of Wisconsin at Madison where I received a B.S. in Chemistry.  I have had the pleasure of working in the chemical industry before becoming a teacher.

My hope is that each student of mine would feel safe and cared for in my classroom as well as to feel free to take risks and explore the wonderful world of science.  To begin creating such a classroom environment, I have included my classroom policy which includes classroom behavior expectations, homework policies, and much, much more.  The students and I will talk and/or have already talked about them.  Please take the time to read them and discuss them with your child.  If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

I would also like to take this time to invite each of you to our Fall Open House on Thursday, September 13, 2007 from 7:00 PM to 9:30 PM.  During the open house, I hope to get to know all of you a little better and share my philosophy of teaching with you as well.  I look forward to meeting all of you.

I know by working together we will establish a positive, wonderful, and enjoyable learning experience for your child.  Thank you for taking out the time to read over this material.  Thank you also for being important to your child.
