I have included the Scene Seen Questions and an example of a full credit response from one student below to provide students with some idea of what is expected. The topic selection and research were completed with Mrs. Gallucci in the first quarter-- all I need is a written description of what you are working to produce. The actual product will be due in the third quarter.

Scene Seen Quarter Two Questions (1 paper per partnership)

1) What is your specific topic? (short answer)
2) What is the main idea (thesis) you want to share? (medium length)
3) Why are your topic and ideas important for others to understand? (medium length)
4) In terms of organization, how do you plan to develop your ideas? (Extended response)
5) In terms of presentation medium, how do you plan to communicate your ideas? (medium length)

You need to submit completed responses to these questions by the end of Quarter 2. I will cycle papers back on a weekly basisget drafts in soon!

Scene Seen Responses Example:

1) My specific topic for the scene seen is the inner workings of the cattle slaughterhouses of America (mostly cruelty towards animals).

2) The main idea that I would like to share is that the people must know about is what goes on in slaughterhouses. I will include animal cruelty facts, what the cows go through during slaughter and what ends up in our beef.

3) This is important to know because if people are going to eat a product, they have a right to the knowledge of all of the details of its processing.

4) I will include narratives of what happens to steer prior to and during slaughter, some pictures of the slaughterhouses (within what is and is not allowed to be viewed), and explanations of how beef packing companies and slaughterhouses affect America. My overall purpose is to get students thinking over whether what they’ve always been taught is true: is killing animals right?

5) My plan is to present and organize my project in the form of a PowerPoint presentation covering all that I’ve explained about my topic.
