Hall Passes: The use of passes is a privilege-- students who want to use passes should follow the Participation Guidelines.
 
Daily Work(DW): Credit for daily work will typically be based on a Start - Do - Finish model-- students who get right to work and remain on task through the end of the period will receive full credit.  Students who are off task will receive reduced credit.  Reduced credit can be increased by submitting the completed assignment along with a description of an important fact, a DV connection description and a related researched fact.  Please be productive with our time!

Bellringers: Classes will compete as a unit with prizes awarded on specific days.

 

Investigations:  Students should conduct a textbook based investigation for each chapter and be prepared to describe their results at the time of each chapter quiz. 

 

Chapter Welds:  Students will be expected to write a pair of responses at the time of each chapter quiz:

1) Students will read about a topic in the chapter that was not covered in the chapter notes and write a response that describes what they read about, how it connects to a specific note from the chapter and how it affected history (why it is important/ included in the text).

1c) Explain how your topic affected history.

2) Students will describe how a DV history term (not government) connects to an item from the chapter notes in a response that provides evidence that the student understands the DV term, the chapter note and how they are related.

Grade Weight Change: Chapter Quizzes (15%) and Welds(5%) will be a combined 20% of the quarterly grade and the QLT(5%) & QCT(5%) will drop to 10% combined.
